I have MPASM and SIMUPIC84 programs (a assembler and simulator), but they
don't run on a Pentium. X-??

Any one knows any freeware assembler and simulator for PIC16F84??
And a C compiler?

Thanks.

MPLAB, MPASM & MPSIM run fine on my Pentium, Pentium II and
486 machines under both windows 95 and NT 4.0 with the
one exception that PICSTART will not work under NT because of Microchips
not yet providing the "soon to come" driver.

Maybe worth considering: my jal compiler handles inline assembler,
and contains a build-in simulator (mainly to test the comp[iler, but
could be used for other purposes). regards,

Have you seen gpasm and gpsim?

http://reality.sgi.com/jamesb/gpasm/
http://www.interstice.com/~sdattalo/gnupic/gpsim.html

These are an assembler and simulator that have been released under the GNU
Public License.

Also, you may wish to check out the gnupic project at:

http://reality.sgi.com/jamesb/gnupic/

there are instructions on how you may join the gnupic mailing list.

There has been a recent GNU release of a C compiler, but I lost that
information along with the rest of my hard disk recently. Maybe someone
else can point you to it.

Scott
