'SMT footprints?'

Has anyone run across a comprehensive reference (online preferred, of
course) of recommended PCB footprints for surface mount packages?  We will
be doing a board with TSOP, QFP (or TQFP), SOIC, and various other
itsy-bitty packages, and the board layout software is old enough that it
doesn't have these patterns in the vendor-supplied library.

thanks in advance,

More specifically, try http://search.ipc.org/SM782/default.asp

This is a "calculator" for land patterns, not a comprehensive reference
of standard packages, though there are lots of common packages
pre-calculated for you. The best resource is still the data sheet for the
part you're using, though,...

I was sent a hard-copy set by another PIC consultant in San Diego several
years ago--don't know where he got them, but assume they were from a
standard of some sort.  Might see of one of the magazines like Printed
Circuit Board Layout can get you a reference.

Also NATIONAL SEMI has a book dedicated to "Packaging"--get a copy--it
should all be in there!
