No need to... Microchip's web site now has the latest 16F87X data sheets
available.

It's on Microchip's web site now. I deleted it off my page.

Of course, one has to ask how can a PIC be pin compatible with both the
16C73 and 16C74/76/77 as claimed on the microchip web page. Some sort of
magic?
If pass experience hadn't taught me otherwise, I would kindly tell the web
master of the error but that never seems to work with microchip. :-)

What's your point, Jim? Are you picking on the 28/40 pin discrepancy? My
guess is that it means there's a '876 in the works (same die, why not?!).\
I think the Vref- is an interesting thing to make compatible, though!

It was released today. (together with an interesting
5V - 15V PIC)

Jim,
Just got a quote back on the '876 part - $8.64 for 20K, vs. 9.51 for the '877.
Guess my hunch was right!

Yes.
http://www.microchip.com/10/Lit/PICmicro/16F87X/index.htm See 16F873/4
(I also noticed the A/D is spec'ed at 8-bits???)
I would have be willing to take the time to email the webmaster
but given the 17C42 is still described as having a 8x8 multiply...
...over a year after I informed uChip that it doesn't, why bother...
>guess is that it means there's a '876 in the works (same die, why not?!).\
The information on the '876 was already posted when I made my observation.
Anyway, some private email from uChip tells me that the system is being
changed.
Soon the person responsible for his/her area will be able to effect changes
on the
web pages. Hopefully this will mean that if I take the time to offer
feedback, someone
will be eager to act.
>I think the Vref- is an interesting thing to make compatible, though!
Too technical for me. :-)
