'Propic programmer question'

Hi!

I've built the ProPic programmer from TOTO, but I have a question
concerning the capacitors that are mentioned on the home page. It says you
should put 470 pF caps from RB6 and RB7 to ground and that it's not on the
PCB.

What does this mean? Where should you connect the capacitors and what
happens if you exclude them?

I also wonder about the programming software that accompanies the
programmer. Can this software run under win95 or NT or is Win3.11 the only
choice?

I'd really appreciate any help on this matter.

Regards,

Hi Danjel,

You need two 470pF caps.

Use the first cap and connect one lead to RB6 and connect the other
lead to ground.

Use the second cap and connect one lead to RB7 and connect the other
lead to ground

I'm running the software with Win95.  Haven't tried NT.

Hope this helps!

Hi Danjel,

Before putting the capacitors, reduce the pull-up resistor on RB6 and RB7
to 2K2. After this if you still have problems writing the the chip, add the
capacitors.
The software works on both Win3.1 and Win95 and I hope Win98.

Regards,

Octavio

I have included this capacitor in my circuit and worked fine!

In some parallel computers work fine, without!

Miguel.
