If you want to get info on the PIC's go to the Microchip web site at
http://www.microchip.com/ .  There is also a program by Tony Nixon (I believe)
called Pic N' Poke which is good for beginners.  Do a web search using the
term "PIC Microcontrollers" and you will get a computer full of web site to
look at?

You can get any datasheet on any PIC from http://www.microchip.com  .  You can also
get paper copies of any databook from your local Microchip representative,
if you are near one  (Where are you, BTW?)  There are several excellent
books on the subject, Myke Predko's (Hi Mike) being highly recommended.
He'll tell you more.  Check it out at http://www.myke.com     The way I started:
Get a databook for the PIC16F84, read it, get a programmer kit, build it,
get MPLAB (free from microchip) and start programming.
