Hi, everybody!
Anyone has experience with re-utilizing OTP devices programmed accidentally
with wrong content? I tried to clean them by x-ray radiation with the help
of my friend, who served at a hospital at the technical staff. Later I
realized that the programmer I used to check to see the result, had contact
problems. Perhaps was a point when doses were good, but later was risen to
a level harmful for crystal structure...? The source was cobalt, but the
doses...? I don't remember.

All the reports I've heard are that exposure to X-rays or gamma rays will
erase OTP devices, but also damage them at about the same time. There is
no (reliable) way to re-use them.

I am no expert on radioactive materials, but I don't think that cobalt
emits X-rays in the same frequency range as, say, an x-ray machine. I think
they are MUCH harder (gamma rays). Maybe softer x-rays would be more likely
to cause erasure without crystal damage?
