Yes, we're listening and we'd like to do something about the problems
a few of you are having.

Anyone who needs a Microchip CD ROM, having requested one recently or
not, please send an email to spam_OUTliteratureTakeThisOuTspammicrochip.com with your
complete mailing information. We'll handle it out of headquarters until
we can find the black hole in the field. Sorry for any inconvenience
we've caused; it has not been intentional.

We send you the letter because we thought you'd want to know who to
contact in your local area in case you need further information that
you can't locate on the website. So you're saying that the letter is
    useless; we get the message.

PIC customers deserve top-quality service. We'll make sure you get it.
    Thanks for the feedback.

I've been waiting for a couple of years, I first sent for the update
after i attended a class. Then after hitting your web page several
months later. I think the reason the 'local distributor' has contacted
me is that they know (from previous contact) that I am a hobbiest who
uses the PIC for all sorts of useful one off ideas. Heck I'd be willing
to pay for the CD (as long as the price was reasonable). I love using
the 16x84's just wish I could get the same EE/Flash technology in
both smaller and larger pin packages and with more ROM space.

Hello
I bought mine from digikey.  I think it was $4.  I had no trouble getting it.

Hi

Well I guess its time for me to put in a plug for my local rep, Pipe
Thompson Technologies.  I have had great services from them and if you
are in Ontario, Canada and fall under their coverage area give em a
call.  They'll send you a CD in no time.  I have also had great service
from the Eastern Canada District Manager.

I do beleive the problem lies with individual reps... not Microchip.

Charles

First I appologize for posting that to the PIC List, but I thank you
for the response! I never saw that in any of the catalogs I received
maybe I should check a little better.

Hi Neil,

In the most recent Digikey catalog (January - March 1998),  the CDrom appears
on page 120.  The part number is DS00161-ND and is $3.75.

Hope this helps.

somwhen last year.
I both got a mail my request was forwardet to a local distributor here

So does digikey come under "full service distributer", or will they not
send you a $4 CD without their $20 (whatever) minimum order?

(got my first digi-key catalog back when they were giving away a free 555
with it.  They've come quite a long way...)
