'MPLAB and P16PRO, DONTRONICS, ITU ETC PROGRAMMERS'

Hi Piclisters.
I have MPLAB working with the ITU, DONTRONICS, P16PRO, MANNING, DIY
and the million other "TAIT STYLE" programmers. Successful testing done
in the wee hours of 2nd Jan 1999. All that is required to run these
programmers
with MPLAB is a 16C558 with 4LAB firmware, a 4MHz resonator, one resistor
and a couple of D-connectors on a scrap piece of PCB. An extra wire needs to
be connected on the programmer board.
All 12C , 14C and 16C ISP parts can be programmed. The 4LAB firmware is
also compatible with my own DOS and Windows drivers, It's bilingual. This
gives
a range of features including serial numbers, automatic calibration support
for
the 14000 and 12Cxxx, 16C505 parts and other stuff not in MPLAB.
I have also been told to believe that soon there will be linux drivers for
the MPLAB
compatible half of 4LAB.
I hope to offer a low cost upgrade kit for all the above programmers, as I
will for the
picstart 16C and my OEM programmers the warp-3, PP1 and warp-17as soon
as suitable PICs and PCBs (where applicable) arrive. Some of these programmers
also program the 16C5x and 17Cxx parts with MPLAB.
I have a mailing list that people can join from my web page. This list is
about to
become operational so if you are interested in any aspect of my work,
please join
this list now.
Thanks,
Jim

Sounds like a great idea Jim! Let us know when we can buy the chip from
you(your listbot must not like my browser, I get "http error 405" when I
try to join.
An even tougher challenge would be something that allowed my picstart+ to
run under MPLAB :-(
Cheers,
Bob

Yikes! I will check this link. Page mill seems to like corrupting them
occasionally.
9Not my fault of course!) ;-)

Ha Ha! Thanks for the laugh but I'm not That much of a
sucker for punishment.
