which stepping through the code?

Right click on one of the buttons to select a pin and button function
(H,L,pulse or toggle)

Could any body out there help me, i'm trying to write MPLAB for the 16F84.
The code was fine through the MPLAB, compiling the code is fine to, but
sending the HEX file via the 'Send.EXE', it PIC does not do anything. It
act like if the chip was blank, could some one out there send a a little
example, that has been written in MPLAB (version 4.0) for the 16F84.
I'm using the 16F84 to create a small test project. I create the code
using a text editor, which is fine (using tasm to compile) for the basic
stuff, this works ok.
Writing a project via MPLAB (4.00), which compiles/simulate OK. It
compiles OK to a hex file, sending this to the PIC seems to be ok (not via
MPLAB). The problem is this, it does not seem to do anything.
I'm I doing somthing wrong here, do I need to change the settings?

When I did this, it was because I did not send a configuration word to
set the PIC to run on a crystal. The program that I used to burn the
memory set up the default as an RC oscillator. i found that when I set
the configuration bits properly, everything was just fine.
