Hi all,

I got a nother question.  It is getting very hard to find replacement XT
type keyboards and there are lots of AT type keyboards.  Has anyone made
a AT to XT keyboard converter so that a AT keyboard can be used on a XT
computer?

The keyboard (XT/AT) switch would be nice if any of the new keyboards
have them.  All of the keyboards that I have ordered or gotten at like
BestBuy or other places that have lots of keyboards are only AT
compatible keyboards.  I have been in the computer industry for many
years and have seen it very hard the last 4 years to get any keyboards
that are both AT/XT compatible.  I thought though since the keyboards are
send a single bit at a time I figured that some one may have did a
project to convert a AT keyboard to work on a XT keyboard based system.

I do thank you for your help and input though.

XT and AT have different protocoll.
You can find on some ham festival one of first AT clone keyboard used.
That kind of keyboard has a switch to change from XT to AT and viceversa.
I have some IBM XT keyboard  at home, but I think that it cost to much to send
them to you.
Ciao.

I would suggest trying JDR Microdevices (http://www.jdr.com) or Jameco
(http://www.jameco.com) for XT compatible keyboards. Heck, Jameco still sells a
few parts for Apple ]['s
