 Hello everybody:

I need to purchase a couple of BC547B Motorola transistors.  I check
with Digi-Key and Mouser Electronics and they does not have it.
Sugestions are welcome

Thanks in advance,
Efrain Torres

Hola Efrain, ese transistor es Europeo y es nuy muy corriente, osea es un NPN     normal y corriente, su equivalente americano es el 2N5818.

Aqui es España se encuentra en cualquier sitio por poco que busques.

Saludos.

I had the same problem.
I used 3904, 3906 transistors in a programer I built. They worked fine.
Good luck

The BC547 is a plastic version of the BC107, it's just a general purpose
NPN silicon transistor - most small signal NPN transistors should work.

Farnell stocks them. You have to buy them in fives.

The real problem is you will have trouble finding them in most US
catalogs.
>From past experience, only about one well known US mail order catalog
carries them, but the company name evades me for the moment. They really
do take some searching for in the states.

Use a 2N-xxxx equivalent, but you will find in most cases, the flat side
of the case needs to be turned 180 degrees. As Nigel said, most small
signal NPN transistors should work.

Just make sure of the collector/emitter orientation.

Newark have BC547 and BC547A...

According to the ECG book, it crosses to 123AP (as does just about
every other generic NPN transistor).  So ECG 123AP would work at
a price...

BC547B are european transistors. B.G. Micro has some available on
page 6 of their catalog ($0.12 ea or 100/$7.95). You'll find them at
http://www.bgmicro.com The North American counterparts for the BC547B are
2N3904 or 2N4401

Adi

Efrain,
I was in the local electronics shop on Tuesday and found that they
had a pretty decent supply of the BC line of transistors and the
price was good. I.E. I picked up 4 of the BC558's for $0.10 each. As
a last resort I can put a few in an envelope if you want.

Use 2N2222 or the same n-p-n Si tranzistor.
