Good afternoon everyone,

I'm a third year EE student  and at the moment, we have a task
to build an AM Radio receiver.  I'm just asking if anyone on the list
can give me some links to web-sites which talks about the circuitry
designs of an AM Radio.  At the moment, I have some general overview
on how each component functions (Antenna, RF, oscillator, Detector,
filter, pre-amp, amp), but have problems with the actual designing.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me?  Your help is greatly
appreciated!

Cheers

Rainbow kits, I think it is http://www.rainbow.com, but a search on radio kits
would turn it up.

They have several different designs to look at plus alot of other interesting
kits.

If there are no restrictions, such as: all-discrete, build only with
transistors, build only with tubes, build primitive (foxhole radio),
etc., you might consider the ZN414 or ZN416, which is an AM radio-on-a
-chip (with a few outboard components). There are newer chips of a
similar design, I can't recall what they are. Very simple.

this site has actual crystal radio plans.   please go to the
geology department, beg a bit of galena from the mineralogy lab
teaching assistant (use my name, (yeah sure))
eat an entire box of oatmeal and go for it.
