  The topic of providing LCD bias for extended temperature LCDs has been
discussed here from time to time. Steve Hendrix has an article in the
current issue (5 April) of Electronic Design. He talks about using a uP's
(ie: PIC) PWM output to generate a bias voltage in the +1 to -3V range.

  Geesh, the only thing I've had in print in recent years was the 17 Dec 98
issue of EDN as runner-up in the "Name That Widget" contest ;-)
