Sometimes I hate the english language. 'Very good value for money' is not unfortunately able to be summarized by the word 'cheap'. Hours went into getting the programmer right. About 5 PIClisters tested it and tore it to bits. The result is that with about 250 Kit 96 sold in 2 months there has been only 1 single complaint. I got it back: it had been blow-torched on the back with lifted tracks, globs of solder 5mm in diameter, obvious dry-joints and no links added. And he wanted a replacement for free! Maybe Don & I should double the price. People would stop calling it 'cheap' but still be satisfied with it :-) regards, Peter ------------------------------------------------- Peter J. I built it, use it, and sell it. If it was crap, I would not bother. Sure, I've been burt before with 'low cost' stuff. But this little beauty is a gem. I have lost count of the number of PICStart16B/C's that have gone west - and for that matter, the PICStart Plus. I worked in Distribution supporting these things, and boy did I take some flack. Stefan, "Blast" is slang. Means I had a really good time. I was a civilian electronic engineer, working with classified military battle simulator and flight simulators. Generally worked 2 weeks out of 6, what with our American military's "hurry up and wait, then cancel the schedule" mentality. I thoroughly enjoyed and immersed myself during all that spare time in the different culture. Made some lifelong friends and had many good experiences which will travel with me to the grave. Saw the wall come down one week, and many crashed and/or abandoned East German "Trabants" and "Wartburgs" along the autobahn the next week. Watched the Gulf war unfold and got to talk with some of the pilots directly thereafter at Rhein-Main airbase. Enjoyed the Sachsenhausen pub scene and traveled on many weekend inexpensive tours to the neighboring countries. I could go on, but this is about PICs, not this stuff, sorry for the diversion. Meanwhile, I am waiting for my $25 PIC programmer and fresh batch of 16F84 chips to arrive so I can get started! Regards, R. William Kichman, P.E.
