Ha! I'm sorry to disappoint you, but my ventures do not extend to the17C$$$ PICs. I never bothered playing with any, actually. If you
compare the prices of the 17C$$$ to the 'lower-end' Motorola's,
you'd see that the PICs are way over-priced for what you get.
We buy the 68HC916X1's for around the same price as the
17C756's. I'd like to see Mchip justify this price against a part with
50k Flash, 2k RAM, and an on-board ICE. Geez.

Thinking about it, with a few hardware tricks, you could probably
get away with a SX28AC (Scenix).

Do you know 68HC916X1? I think that is less expensive!

Miguel

PS: SAB166 is a good option too! I'm testing it!

Be wary of the HC11's. I just had a supplier call (actually it was last
week)  and inform me that my flavor (HC711L series) was going to be
discontinued.  So, if you do choose a Motorola part, heed the following
warning (note: This is from an individual at Motorola);

"As long as you stick with an E, D, F or KS device, you will be safe for
many years to come."

Other than that I have no further advice as I have not used a 17C756 part.
Hope this helps.
