Just a quick note for anybody (like me 8-) just starting out with the PIC16C84..

Microchip seem to have written the '84 data sheet with the assumption that
the reader will already be very familer with the PIC family. Many things are
taken for granted such as what the various oscillator types are and how they
differ.

Fortunatly these things are explained in more detail in the data sheet for
the PIC 16C71. So, my advice is, read the '84 data sheet in conjunction with
the '71 data sheet!

Maybe this is FAQ material?

Hope that helps!

I'm making it for an Amiga computer, i like to have the same programs wich i
have on my pc...

And i have made an basic compiler, why not an pic compiler??

It's a project, just to see if i'm up to it... It's a 'see if i could do the
same' but better.. :D

OKI??

Hi,

I programmed a Pic 16C84 on one of those DIY Programmers.

I tried to reprogramme the same but I am unable to.

Would be obliged if I could get to know if the 16C84 is a OTP.

Thanks,

Rajnish

The 16C84 is reprogrammable.

You may have a problem with your programmer, or a defective chip.
