'[ot]: can you get at streaming data?'

I was wondering if it's possible to have a little program
that would sit and watch for streaming data on a browser
page, then grab it and put it out onto a serial port?
can someone give me a clue about where to get started on this?
I was thinking of using a pic based machine to grab weather data from
the internet, and then rf it around the building to other displays.
That's grab it from the serial port from a little program that grabs it from
a streaming page...
thanks

Recently seen a programming tool that might work - "Softwire" has a control for Visual basic that will "mine" a webpage for data - you could then use it ti send the data to a serial port
You would need Visual Basic, Softwire will work as a demo for 90 days I think - maybe enough time to geneate your app

I'd be suprised if you couldn't find some XML code that does something like
that with a little searching. You might look around for some XML
library/demo sources. It seems like an obvious use for it...
