So obvious that as long as we've had cameras, and as long as we've had digital cameras to make it even easier to do, it wasn't invented until now.

Maybe just because 32 cameras would be too expensive, too much data, etc..
then processors improve, memories improve, cameras get smaller, etc..

Tell me what is not obvious in that technology? Both hardware and software
wise.
