Tom,

Last week in the MChip seminar they said that this and other popular parts
will be replaced by its (slowly..) appearing flash versions. Also, said that
in one year they'll be producing a cheaper (with a new fab process) version
of the 16F84.


BTW, the seminar was a big bad joke. I don't understand where they want to
go in trying to teach analog filtering theory (in a *PIC* seminar) in three
hours... And showing the poor FilterLab software to engineers with years of
experience on designing all kind of filters...
It seems that they need to sell their new OpAmps...
I guess how many of the 150 assistants will return to a Microchip seminar
next time.

Fine except for one thing.

Due to the fact that what Microchip calls Flash is more like what everyone
else calls EEPROM Microchip's flash parts take a long time to program. It will
be very tedious when I have a batch of ten to do.
