Hi
I got a SMT chip I want to use on my development (bread) board with a PIC.
What is the best way I can connect it up?

Thanks
Quentin

couple ways.....

they make PLCC surface mount sockets....

if its soic, they make SMC to thruhole (dip) adapters

third, glue it down and wire to the pads on the target

probably more....but thats off the top of my head

I've had good luck with adaptors to DIP (which I then plug into wire wrap
sockets) from Ironwood Electronics (http://www.ironwoodelectronics.com).

I use to solder them into a turned-pin socket

Then on the breadboard have a nother turned-pin socket, so i can swap in
another device.

Cheaper bet is to get AMP parts from Digi-Key and make a PCB to do it.
