My reply to James' comment on nuclear power has been
pulled 3 times. Apparently somebody doesn't like my comments.

If anyone wants to know my reply, please say so and I will send a
copy privately.

Just to let you know, I got it alright, heck, I even replied to it. :)

List weirdness? Who knows. If anyone does know, give me a shout.

Your reply has not been pulled, not once, not twice, not three times. I
don't understand why you think it has.

Sorry, James. Only because I never saw them appear. I still haven't,
after a number of hours.
I don't know what is wrong.

I believe you will find that your own posts are never echoed back to you.
This is a setting in the list server software that defaults to "no echo" and
that you can change at:

I saw it at least twice, so maybe it's on your end.

I have never known of this setting. I always have always been able to
read my own posts  in
the past. Apparently this only works selectively, since this is the
first message EVER that was
not echoed, and I made posts just before and just after and they
appeared. Truly amazing way
for a list to act.

For the record, there is no way for us (admins) to "pull" a message off
the list once it's successfully posted.

Again, Herb, 14 hrs after the first post, it has never arrived.
Didn't mean to accuse you guys, but when that message
got rejected 3 times in a row, and ALL OTHERS passed,
I got very suspicious.

I find that when something like that happens it's always best to check
another feed of the piclist. I believe there is a google group that
supplies a piclist feed. I've also heard of a site called nable that
does the same.

I like the Ack feature:
"When the `ack' option is turned on, you will receive an
acknowledgement message whenever you post a message to the list."

Mailman replies quickly, then I can wait calmly for my post to
eventually propogate.

'Course Russell would end up spamming himself...

I receive the acks and filter them directly to the delete mailbox.
This is only ever cleared manually so I can check them as/if required.
