There are jerks everywhere, even on the PIC list. Ignore them. In the
immortal words of the first Roman electronic engineer, Gaius PICius,
who had to power his embedded projects with static electricity
generated by rubbing amber and silk together, "Non Carborundum Illegitimi."

When a question is asked, one should at least try to use some sort
of a subject line. I don't read any messages that start with :
1) <No subject>
2) HELP!!!
3) Newbie question
4) UNSUBSCRIBE PICLIST
5) Need Help!!!
6) Miffed!!
7) Newbie
etc. etc.

I even don't mind helping out someone with an analogue question,
as long as the problem is stated in the subject line.

As for the shitheads that don't unsubscribe when they cancel
their accounts, or set up their mailers to return messages like :
"Mr S Hithead is out of office for the weekend and will return
your email on Monday", well, they derserve a rap on the knuckles
(with a passenger train)

I'm not saying that you shouldn't let people know how you feel when they do
something that irritates you.  Just please direct your comments directly to them
,
instead of broadcasting it on the list.  Or, at the very least, don't berate the
m
in front of the whole world (literally) for not having common sense.  These days
,
common sense is such a subjective term that very few of us can claim to be well
endowed with it. If you want to make a point, or "educate" others on the list.
Use
some "common sense" yourself, and be civilized about it.  And if you can't be
civilized, then you shouldn't be attempting to educate anyone.  Quite frankly al
l
you end up doing is making a fool of yourself in front of the whole world
(literally).

This mailing list has over 100 posts a day.  There's really no way to avoid wast
ed
badwidth.  The only thing we can do is use our experience and knowledge to minim
ize
it as much as possible.  Well.  I've wasted enough bandwidth on this topic.
