My strategy is to hold out as long as possible and with some
luck next Windows will be out, and better by then. But I am afraid
MS wont abandon their DRM/spy/big brother -policy so Windows XP
might be the last MS OS for me/us.
Long term I think linux is the way to go.
Advantages: Free (but that isnt the main thing, just a nice bonus!)
no big brother OS that spys on us. I can trust it not to have backdoors.
Not to tell me what I can and can not run.
Disadvantage: Some windows appz wont run on it and I dont know linux :p
Did you know MS hands out usb-thumbdrives with tools to crack windows
so police and others that gets hold of that, very easily can get your
sensitive data/secrets out of your PC? Whats the point of security if
MS hands out the keys to anyone?
Btw the pointless DRM-encryption between a monitor and the graphics card
that requires a substantial part of a the gfx-card's capacity isnt very
energy/environment friendly. Should be illegal to design such products.
That is part of MS strategy to get control over all hi-def. media that
plays on windows platform. So we all pay the price in higher electrical
bill and fan noise to cool the pc for this 'advantage' I wonder what that
crap will cost the consumers globally... We should send the bill to Bill.

I know the inevitable will happen, but our strategy is to hold out for as
long as possible, in hopes that by the time we are forced to switch, many of
Vista's problems will be fixed.
