       Hi all !

I have a burnt (literally), 16 pin IC from an NC machine for electrical
erosion, with following marks on it: MDP 1603-303G  DALE 8921.     I
searched the net, but with no success. Does anybody know what this part is?
TIA, Samo

That looks like a resistor network, probably in a 16 pin DIL package. I
think the resistor values are 30k. I do not have a datasheet handy so cannot
tell if it is isolated resistors or a network with a common pin. Go to the
dale section of http://www.vishay.com to check it out. 8921 is the
manufacture date code.

It is not an IC at all, but a resistor network.

16 pins, 8 isolated nominally equal resistors from pin 1- 16, 2-15 etc.
30K ohms each, 2% tolerance.

Data sheet: http://www.vishay.com/doc?31511

My intial off the cuff guess is that it is a resistor network, possibly
with 160K and 30K resistors in it.  The name Dale is my reasoning for
my conclusion.   The numbers 8921 are the date code.  This part was made
on or about the first May in 1989.  It may help some in identifying this
part further if some of the circuit details were given.

Hope this helps you out some.

                                            Regards,

                                              Jim

I think it is a resistor network.  Replacing it
without finding why it is burnt will probably not be
fruitful.

You might go to http://www.findchips.com

and enter;

1603

Dale entries will appear.
