'[EE]: multi opto coupler'

Did a web search but couldn't find what
I was looking for. I need some opto-couplers
with multiple optos in one small DIP package.
Pref four units, but two or three would be ok.
A perfect unit would have 6 optos in a 14pin
dip, but maybe i'm dreaming here.
Has anyone used these or know where to source?
:o)

Try the NEC PS2501 opto's they are in a 4 pin package and are available in
blocks of 4 PS2501L-4 (16 pins). If you want, there is a 16 pin ssop package
with 4 opto's PS2801L-4

I have just tested one. It was given to me by a friend of mine this morning
it only has 817 on the top ( 4 pin ) When used with s 10k pull up on the
transistor side it just works fine. I drove the diode thro 270ohm resister
from 16F877. It was to drive a power MOSFET.

The ILQ74-2 (dual) & ILQ74-4 (quad) should be easy enough to
get in Oz. I bought the last lot from Avnet but we (& a lot of others)
don't deal with them since their "policy changes" came into place.
(I think Farnell had them for not too bad a price from memory)
The PC817 is confusing as a some suppliers (WES) have them as
single, dual & quad units but don't really show that in the price list.
The ILQ74-4 is in a DIP16 package.
Regards...

The WES option sounds the best yet. We order
about twice a week from them. I will give them
a ring! Thanks.

Farnell list 7 types from Vishay, TI, Toshiba & Siemens for std
transistor output. Also 2 AC input and 4 darlington outputs.
All quads in DIP.

Dear Roman,
The PC817 is a 4 pin single device. The PC827 is a dual 8 pin and the PC847
is quad 16pin. They are all marked with pc817 on the case - the pc827 twice
and the pc847 four times. About 35c per opto from Manuco Electronics,
Victoria.

My company has used these as well as a line of Japanense instruments we
sell. Not sure what the largest number you can get, but you can see they
saw them off to make singles, duals, quads.
