I recommend looking at gEDA http://www.geda.seul.org/ which is open source. It was inadequate when I looked at it a year ago, but they seemed to be making rapid progress. (Is it usable already ?) Sorry for your pain, will never happen anymore... However, all good PCB design software have such clones or cracked versions, it needs only time and nerves to find it, it's not my fault that these firms can't protect his own software, I do not distribute, promote or crack programs, I only inform you about this reality ( which probably you already know...) I hope they catch the dirtbag and put him in jail where he belongs. I'm even more dismayed that I'm seeing someone on the PIClist helping people steal software. I would sagree in principal, sort of... but whose laws exactly? It's an international list, and local laws vary quite a bit. A lot of things that are perfectly legal inthe US will get you in trouble elsewhere, and vice versa. If we talk about a specific rule prohibiting the discussion of pirated software on the list, I could possibly be swayed... but that would have to apply to flames & rants about the topic as well as advocacy of using pirated software. Although I can understand Bob's call I would not encourage such a move. The laws of what country would be applied?? e.g. the good ould encryption laws if the US for instance could prohibit a thread on that topic. I believe such a move could ring the deathknell for the Piclist. I think a rap on the knuckles response of Olin's type should suffice. That's my tuppence worth Slightly aside: I heard on the radio this morning that somewhere in Florida it is against the law to break wind (i.e. fart) in public on Thurday evenings after 18:00hrs !
