Parts making with different names

There is a part that the part name is different though the symbol to use with the schematic and the package to use with the board are the same. For example, it is a voltage regulator and so on. The voltage regulator has some parts according to the voltage. In case of 78 series, the name depends on the difference with voltage such as 7805(for 5V), 7806(for 6V)... However, the symbol and the package data are the same. "Technologies" can be used for the registration of such a part. This function is used when wanting to change a part name by one piece of device data. Hereinafter, I will explain in the case of the voltage regulator of 78 series.

Preparation of the symbol data and the package data
One piece of symbol data and one piece of package data are used.

(78XX.sym)

(TO220H.pac)

Creating of device data

Using the Device icon, it registers a new device.
At this time, it uses "*" for the place of the name which changes.
This time, I did to "78*".

It registers symbol data using the Add button and it registers package data using the New button.
In this condition, only "78" is displayed in Technologies.

The dialog of Technologies is displayed when clicking the blue character of Technologies.

Type the character to put in "*".

Push OK, then name is registered.

Remove checking at the head.

Data is registered when pushing the OK button once again.
The character to have registered on Technologies is displayed in the position of "*".

The data which was registered with "Technologies" is displayed in the part selecting dialog of the schematic making.
