Tilapia Topic, Disinfectant,

Sodium Thiosulfate

Following chlorine disinfection of water, sodium thiosulfate may be used to quickly neutralize chlorine activity. To effectively neutralize chlorine, sodium thiosulfate should be added at a rate of 2.85 times the weight of  chlorine present in the water. Once chlorine has been neutralized and the chlorine level measured and found to be zero, the water can be safely used for culturing or if discarded, should not pose a chlorine hazard to aquatic animals.
